Overview

Military Batteries Australia manufactures to order many different portable batteries, mostly used by government departments, which are used for a variety of applications where power is required out in the field. These portable batteries are usually manufactured in Pelican or Seahorse cases so they are weather resistant and are suitable for use outdoors in all weather conditions including heavy rain. These battery cases can be either a battery with BMS alone or can be manufactured as an integrated battery case solution installed with numerous electronics options such as GPS, remote monitoring, inbuilt solar charger, modems and several other options as per the design specification provided by the customer.

Customer examples
NSW Government (Transport for NSW)- Portable Pelican case batteries with extensive integrated electronics. These battery cases were manufactured to NSW government specifications. They feature charging both from 240V mains power in the workshop as well as solar charging when set up out in the field so as to provide 24/7 continuous power and are often used to run CCTV cameras for the time lapse recording of the rebuilding of bridges.

Australian Government (Department of Defence)
We supply portable battery field cases manufactured to strict Defence Department specification. These are used to provide portable battlefield power for a multitude of applications. These battery cases utilise the highest safety cells available anywhere in the world and will not catch on fire or explode even if the battery case in pierced by a bullet, shrapnel or other projectile. Due to the mission critical nature of these batteries, even if pieced multiple times by bullets they will continue to work and provide power for a considerable period of time.

Bare Cells And Pouches
Military Batteries Australia supplies bare cells and cell modules to our partners where they manufacture their own batteries to suit the machinery or equipment they manufacture. This includes both cylindrical and prismatic cells and cell modules. Our bare prismatic cells and cell modules are supplied in LiFePO4, LNCM and LTO lithium chemistries. Our Ion SafeX series of prismatic cells are the most widely used high safety military cells used in Australia for government batteries. These cells pass all EUCAR safety testing with the result as always generating level 1 or level 2 results ie, “no fire”, “no explosion” no matter the degree of impact penetration or other physical abuse.

We also supply our Ion SafeX high safety LNCM and Li-Co special drone cells to approved customers.

Training And Consultancy Services
Military Batteries Australia provides an advisory and consulting service to our clients during the design and manufacture of their products which are powered by lithium batteries. This includes hazardous location applications where batteries are used to power robots and drones. Where unsafe and inferior consumer use batteries have resulted in fires we can investigate and provide our professional advice of the cause of the fire and provide recommendations.
